Cephalothorax Abdomen Tail
{short description of image}
Shrimp have 5 pairs of pleopods. The endopods of first two pleopods are always sexually dimorphic, being modified in the male into the petasma and appendix masculine. The other pleopods are similar in size and structure. The pleopods beat rhythmically to give forward swimming, during which the pereopods are folded up underneath the body (Dall et al., 1990).
